Training

Class size

CPO® training sessions are designed to be interactive and engaging, with class sizes intentionally kept small. This ensures that every participant has the opportunity to ask questions, receive personalized feedback, and actively participate in discussions. Smaller groups foster a better learning environment and allow instructors to focus on individual needs.

Schedule

CPO® Certification training is conducted as a two-day course in a classroom setting. Classes begin promptly at 8:00 AM on both days, with breaks and a 1-hour lunch, and conclude at approximately 5:00 PM. Day two follows the same schedule, with the exception of the exam administered after the instruction. All participants are informed of their results that same day. All necessary materials, including the NSPF® Pool & Spa Operator™ Handbook, are provided.

Hands-on Instruction

Hands-on instruction is a cornerstone of CPO® training. In addition to theoretical knowledge, participants gain practical experience with equipment and techniques commonly used in pool and spa operations. This approach bridges the gap between theory and practice, ensuring attendees are fully prepared to handle real-world challenges.

With thorough preparation, you can confidently tackle the exam.

The CPO exam focuses on critical areas of pool and spa operation, including water chemistry and balance, filtration and circulation, safety regulations, and troubleshooting. Topics such as pH levels, sanitizers, pool equipment maintenance, and compliance with health codes are integral parts of the test. The ability to diagnose and resolve common pool issues is also evaluated, ensuring you are well-prepared to manage a pool safely and effectively.

The Certified Pool & Spa Operator (CPO) exam consists of 50 multiple-choice questions designed to test your knowledge of pool and spa operations.
